Our dairy products are currently distributed in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine and New York via five different distributors, as well as some local self-delivery. We have gained attention for our collaborative effort to get our organic fluid milk in the Vermont public school system in a sustainable way. Our own University of Vermont gets 1200 bottles of chocolate milk per week for a post-training recovery drink for the school athletes!
Our roughly 250 milking cows are mostly Holsteins (we are the oldest registered herd in the USA—worthless trivia), but we have some Brown Swiss and Jerseys for fun, and currently a Lineback. We are breeding to A2 genetics, and probably 70% there.
We practice Managed intensive grazing, typically giving 2 different paddocks per day during the grazing season.
We are on the “high input, high output” side of the organic spectrum, milking cows 3x, grazing some annuals as well as rejuvenating our permanent pastures.
A cooperative learning spirit is cherished here.
We desire the candidate to enter into community with us, where everybody is welcomed and safe. We work hard, but also seek to preserve a work/life balance here.
