Join Cornell Cooperative Extension and Hawthorne Valley Farm on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 from 9:00-11:00am for a soil health demonstration, pasture walk, and discussion. This event will be unique and interactive, with a demonstration of the Cornell Soil Health Trailer that will show first-hand the impacts of soil health practices.
Cost of the event is $10.00 per farm, refreshments will be provided. Our host, Hawthorne Valley Farm is a Biodynamic farm raising livestock for meat and dairy, growing vegetables, as well as a having a bakery and on-farm store. Hawthorn Valley is also a participating farm in Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship , a nationwide program in cooperation with the Department of Labor that certifies apprentices who work under certified Mentor Graziers. This is a unique program in the agricultural field and the only one like it in the United States.
